Metal Separators Now Come
With Five-Year Warranty

T&T Technology is now offering a five-year warranty on its Met-Sep FF metal separators. Units are designed to protect free-falling virgin pellets, regrind, flake, compound and powder from ferrous and non-ferrous metallic impurities, including lose, tramp metals and metals that embedded in the plastic particle. Metallic particles as small as 0.3 mm (300 micron) can be detected and separated. The detection technology used is based on the application of an eddy current generated by a time-varying, electromagnetic field.

The main components of the Met-Sep FF series are: a transducer coil that generates an electromagnetic field through which material falls, an oscillator and detector circuit that processes a field disturbance when metal is present, an electronic reject mechanism that functions without compressed air, a reject pipe, a reject timer potentiometer and a sensor coil sensitivity potentiometer. Optional are an audible alarm with LED incremental reject counter and a top-mounted T&T Iron-Sep torpedo magnet/transparent sight glass assembly, which separates and captures the ferrous metal prior to its entry into the Met-Sep unit. The Met-Sep FF can be installed where materials fall by gravity, such as beneath a grinder cyclone, a surge hopper or a rotary airlock or where the material is manually fed. Depending on the nominal passage of the unit's sensor coil and the material's bulk density, Met-Sep FF units can handle throughputs from 200 to 2000 lb/hr.
